First, congratulations are in order for the amazing BELLA team. This issue wraps our 5th year and 30th issue – quite an accomplishment! We are so proud of how far we have come … it has truly been a team effort!
I want to start with our amazing, exclusive cover story with Taraji P. Henson of “Empire.” What a phenomenal show, cast, and uber powerful female lead. Taraji rocks it on screen in her dream role of “Cookie” and gives us an inside look at what makes this show America’s guilty pleasure every week. Check it out on pages 86-91.
We also have Greer Grammer (yes, Kelsey’s daughter!) gracing the pages of our “Up Close and Personal” feature that was shot in Los Angeles by Gilles Toucas, among pages of holiday gi ideas, travel, beauty, fashion, dining, the arts, and everything BELLA in New York!
With that said, I also wanted to share something I recently received in a note from a wonderful NYC breast cancer survivor who I had the pleasure of meeting at a recent event. She wrote asking me if I had ever looked up BELLA in the Urban Dictionary, and if I hadn’t (which I hadn’t), she wanted to share with me what it said:
I thought you would enjoy this Urban Dictionary de nition of “Bella” – I think it conveys the spirit behind the name of your magazine!
Bella: She’s the most beautiful girl you will ever see. Every feature that she possesses is engraved in your mind from the second you lay eyes on her. Bella is not limited to just physical features; her personality is equally as beautiful.
You wonder how it is that a person this extraordinary can exist, but nd yourself just appreciating the fact that she exists, and even better yet, that you know her. From head to toe, this girl was simply Bella.
It certainly made me proud to see such a positive and beautiful meaning behind our title, and I hope that through our pages you nd that deeper beauty as well.
As we end another year at BELLA, I want to wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season lled with love, laughter, and beautiful “BELLA” memories.
