These days, music festivals are one of the most popular places to see and be seen — they are a breeding ground for music, fashion, food and art. People wait all year long to get the chance to fly off to Coachella or Governor’s Ball or Burning Man. One such festival that New Yorkers might not be aware of is http://veronicaleea.com/acrobat/sony-acid-music-studio-10/ KAABOO Del Mar, which exploded onto the scene back in 2015 and is fast becoming a festival to be reckoned with. The three day event takes place at the Del Mar Racetrack + Fairgrounds, just outside of San Diego, California.
What makes it different from festivals such as Gov Ball and Coachella is that it takes the dirt and the grime out of the scene, instead focusing on keeping attendees comfortable, with clean amenities, indoor, climate-controlled experiences, plenty of seating areas and clean bathrooms (no port-a-potties!). The 4th annual event will take place from September 14-16 with performances by Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, Halsey, Wiz Khalifa, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gucci Mane, Billy Idol and many, many more musical acts. Plenty of comedians will also take the stage, including Nick Offerman, Craig Ferguson, Iliza Shlesinger, among others.
Music and comedy aren’t the only things to experience at KAABOO Del Mar, either. Art installations, culinary royalty and spa services are all features of this elevated festival experience. The PALATE chef line-up this year includes Michael Mina, Marc Forgione, Michelle Bernstein, Richard Blais and many more, as well as a partnership with San Pellegrino. Indulgence experiences range from IV therapy (to combat those next-day hangovers), massages, hot shaves and blow outs. You’ll look festival ready no matter what.
Three-day passes start at $249 can be purchased here, and their website has all of the information you need to plan your stay in the area and get ready for the big event.
