We all know how important it is to eat correctly and exercise to rid our bodies of unhealthy fat and keep our figures looking lean and smooth. But many of us have those stubborn fatty areas that resist diet and exercise. The CoolSculpting procedure will trim and shape those stubborn areas without surgery, anesthesia or downtime. Best of all is those results are long term!
The CoolSculpting device is sold exclusively to physicians and is FDA approved for the elimination of fat. It does not need to be performed by the physician. Practitioners in a physician’s office receive thorough training and will be supervised by a physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner.
Here’s everything you need to know about the popular method of fat reduction…
There are several non-surgical treatments promising the result of fat-reduction. What makes the CoolSculpting procedure different?
The CoolSculpting procedure targets and cools fat cells to temperatures that trigger fat cell apoptosis (death of the fat cell). The fat cells die, collapse and are eliminated through the body naturally.
Who is the perfect candidate for CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpt is not a weight loss solution or a substitute for liposuction or appropriate surgery. A good candidate has noticeable bulges of fat in one or more areas of the body that diet and exercise cannot erase.
How does the procedure work, and how many sessions are needed for optimal results?
CoolSculpt was developed by Harvard scientists from the idea that cold can selectively affect fat. This science is called Cryolipolysis and it is the technology CoolSculpt is based on. Typically, a noticeable reduction of fat in the treated area will be seen after only one treatment. Some patients find that one treatment addresses their goals, while others choose additional treatments for more fat loss. The patient and the clinician will discuss individual goals and design a plan to suit each individuals needs.
Is there any pain or downtime involved, and how long does it take to see results?
The procedure is completely non-surgical, so you may return to normal activities immediately. Some patients may experience redness, swelling, tingling or discomfort in the treated area. These symptoms are temporary and will resolve completely. Patients begin to see results in as little as three weeks. The most dramatic result is seen after three months, as the body is still flushing out dead fat cells and will continue doing so for up to six months after treatment.
Is CoolSculpting permanent, and what do you suggest to maintain the results?
The fat cells in the area of the body that was treated are eliminated. Gone! As long as you maintain your weight with normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable.
