The Aquarius Festival in LIC

Over the weekend, New Yorkers flocked to Long Island City for the 2nd annual Aquarius Festival, the nation’s first and only sustainable seafood festival. The theme was arctic chic, with attendees sticking to the theme in white furs and leather. The masterminds behind the event come from the same producers of Secret Summer — Tyler Hollinger of HighLife Productions, Andrew Maturana of RAPT and Allison du Val of The Foundry.

Outside, guests huddled around roaring fire pits enjoying all of the delicious food options from spots like Kellari Taverna, CA’PISCI, Crazy Taco Mex, Neapolitan Express and sweet treats from My/Mo Mochi Ice Cream. There was also a raw bar serving up oysters three ways. Intermixed with all of the eats and drinks was boundless entertainment, courtesy of Karina who performed winter burlesque, music by DJ Sasha Hart, DJ Ryan Vandal and guitarist Neon Jesus, as well as a performance by Hudson Horns.

Last but not least, guests were able to add to their closets by shopping for goodies at Nuun Watch Official and Penelope Traveling Boutique. Attendees could also commemorate the evening with pictures from the 4Five Photo Booth. It was a sold-out event, an entertaining evening, and an all night party that is sure to grow in the coming years. In the meantime, don’t feel like you missed out — Secret Summer, the farm-to-bar cocktail festival, returns to The Foundry on August 4!
