Saks Fifth Avenue Short Hills and Celebrity Fashion Stylist Gina La Morte team up to provide Dress for Success of Morris County 2013 Honoree, Tamara Trotz, with an extreme makeover

As a teenager. Tamara Trotz encountered news a child never wants to hear about their parent, that they have cancer. Trotz mother became diagnosed with cervical cancer while she was still in school.

As the eldest child, Trotz decided only applied to one school, Rutgers Newark, in order to stay close to her family and take care of her mother and little sister. Sadly, Trotz’s mother passed away her senior year of college.

After graduation she was offered an opportunity to land her dream job at Rutgers. Due to mounting debt from her mother’s illness and passing she did not have the money to buy the appropriate clothing to interview properly or accept the position. Brenda Lopez (from Rutgers) called her recommending that she show up to Brenda Castelli’s Dress for Success Mobile Suits workshop that was held in April 2012. Trotz never regrets showing up that day.  “Brenda was able to provide me with the necessary clothing and tools to start my job” Dress For Success saved me that day!  Dress For Success offered a program that saved me from my voids that I couldn’t fill alone.” says Trotz.

Since graduation Trotz responsibilities have expanded tremendously but Dress For Success has taken care of her most favorite things “The chance to dress my dreams. I stand here today in all confidence to say that Dress For Success restored my ability to wear my dignity and dress the part. I am now an employee of my Alma mater Rutgers University Newark, where I give back to my city of East Orange as a program counselor for Talent Search East.”

Today, Saks Fifth Avenue of Short Hills is partnering with Dress for Success to celebrate the Honoree’s triumph over tragedy by wardrobing her from head to toe! Lina Allocca, Marketing Director for Saks Fifth Avenue Short Hills, was so gracious to get Saks involved.  “We are always looking for ways to give back to our local community and are delighted to be partnering with Dress for Success to style Tamara with looks from our store. Tamara is an impressive young woman, and we wish her continued success,” said Allocca.
