NYC Halloween… What to Do??

Recently my friends and I were discussing what we should do this Halloween. We must have researched every single event and party from NYC to Jersey to Brooklyn. The main question you have to ask yourself (and the group joining you for the night) is what are you in the mood for and how much do you feel like spending? Do you wanna get dressed up, dance all night in a club, hit up the village parade, or go to a local dive bar. Do you feel like being festive? Or would you rather keep it pretty low key in a skeleton sweater? Every year I always get DECKED out for Halloween (it’s kind of my thing) and I always make my own costume. Laugh if you want, but I get pretty into it. Typically, I go to a house party + bar hoping in NYC or Hoboken, NJ but this year I am joining the “BOO Halloween Massive” party in Brooklyn… I heard it was all the rave. (literally, its a huge rave EDM party).  They call it a “twisted” Halloween event with over 6 DJ’s, crazy spooky visuals, and dancing all night. Tickets for this party are still on sale and go for about $70 and you must be at least 18 to join the fun. Wanna get in the action? Check it out here

Dancing and electronic music not your thing? Don’t worry! I still got you covered. Check out these fun parties and Halloween ideas, hopefully one of them suits you and your gang for a spooktakular night!

Ava Lounge atop The Dream Hotel will be transformed into a savage scene for the Penthouse Massacre Halloween Party. A terrifying night of tumultuous revelry for New York City’s tainted souls and sinister party goers within Ava Lounge’s ultra-chic penthouse and rooftop. While the Midtown Manhattan skyline glimmers outside, Ava Lounge will be a cauldron of salacious costumes, murderous energy and dark Halloween celebration. This looks like a great chic event for all my “fashionistas”, and general admission tickets start at $15. Check it out here

Not really into cheesy costumes and wanna have a fabulous Gossip Girl moment? Then totally do the Capitale 13th annual Masquerade Ball.  They will have a 1 hour vodka open bar from 9-10pm (but the party goes on until 4am). Capitale’s immense 40,000sf, multi-level, multi-room layout includes two opulent ballrooms and the Royal VIP room- ideal for partygoers to mix, mingle, frisk, frolic and cavort the night away in supreme style. The Grand Venetian Ballroom lined with tall Corinthian columns, marble mosaic floors and stunning glass evokes the romance and mystery of Venice, bedazzling its guests with classic European charm and sophistication.  Tickets starting at $30 and all the way to the Royal VIP at $1,960… check it out here

Daring enough to get decked out and down with the huge crowds? Then totally hit up the Village Halloween parade. I feel like this is something you have to experience at least once in your life! If you are in costume then you can even march in it. The line-up area is on Sixth Avenue, south of Spring and north of Canal, between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.  If you don’t want to march it’s definitely entertaining to watch. For a good viewing spot, arrive before 6pm

Is your boyfriend nagging you about dressing up and wants to do something “cooler” then just a club? Are you not drinking this Halloween but still want to participate in some festival fun? I would suggest a walk through the horrifying Blood Manor haunted house.  I am being a total hypocrite here because I would totally pee my pants in there, but it looks like an event you will never forget! The Blood Manner is located at 163 Varick street and will be open on Halloween night from 6pm-1am. Tickets and time frames and going fast so if you wanna check it out reserve your tickets here.

Hope you have an amazing Halloween night! @Jaclynn Brennan …. until next time!
