Trade in the wintery cityscape for a trip out East. Though the Hamptons is mostly known for their lively summer scene, their cold-weather activities are not to be missed! Check out some of the prime spots, sans the crowds, this season.

1 – Skate in Southampton
Swap the overly populated city rinks for a skate in Southampton. The Southampton Ice Rink is the only covered and refrigerated ice rink on the East End of Long Island. Grab some friends and enjoy this fun winter-time activity. While you’re there, check out JT’s Burgers – serving homemade shakes and concession favorites.
2 – Wölffer in the Winter
The popular restaurant and winery is bringing back #summervibes every Sunday at both their Sag Harbor and Amagansett locations. With $1 Montauk Oysters and Rosé, it’ll feel like July in January!
3 – Brunch local, while you can
Estia’s Little Kitchen is an adorable roadside cafe serving the most delicious Mexican-American dishes for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant, along with chef Colin Ambrose, celebrates farm to table cooking with a small garden on site where they source their greens from. We checked out Estia’s for lunch one day, and breakfast on our way out, and were absolutely delighted each time. Try out my personal favorites A’s Pop Bowl, George’s Rach and Isabelle’s Request. Be sure to make a reservation as the wait can get lengthy, even in the winter!
4 – Experience a regal resort
Gurney’s Montauk is another summertime hotspot and a personal favorite of mine. Their allure doesn’t disappear with the season, though, with many events and happenings such as the Y7 Studio Retreat, Wine & Mixology Series and Hartshift with Dara Hart. Not into group activities? Book your stay and a spa day at their seawater sanctuary. With amenities such as the seawater indoor pool, Finnish rock sauna, and Russian steam room, and services ranging from massages to waxing, facials, nails, hair and more, you can’t go wrong!
5 – Satisfy your sweet tooth
I’m not much of a sweets girl but Grindstone Coffe & Donuts may have made me a convert. This delicious local donut shop is serving up handmade brioche and cake donuts (their process takes tow-days) as well as espresso, cold brew soups, and sandwiches. The quaint little shop has a whimsical, hometown feel, with vintage candy for sale and a peek into the kitchen where the magic happens.
