Mercedes-Benz F/W 2014: Sleek, Chic, Fun

Many a fashion aficionado took note of the Mercedes-Benz F/W 2014 collections shown during February 6-13th at Lincoln Center. Bella NYC was there to soak in all of the fashion, excitement, celebrity spotting and socializing during the week!

Here we spotlight a few of our fashionable favorites. Fear not – high boots, faux fur and floppy hats are still en vogue next season.

We observed the BCBG show from the proverbial eye in the sky in the AMEX Skybox at Lincoln Center. Having experienced Fashion Week from various rows and locations, the AMEX Skybox allows you to take the show in while sitting in style. Among the amenities are champagne, cocktails, food and celebrity guests. The BCBG Collection featuring sleek lines, color-blocking, high boots and 70′s flair, was both wearable and flirty. Guest speakers such as Joe Zee (Elle Magazine), Steven Kolb (CFDA) and Tadashi Shoji are known to interact with the AMEX Skybox guests for exclusive Q&A’s.

Georgine was another show that caught our attention with feminine luxury and a glamorous feel which can easily take you from day to night. Rich colors, flattering silhouettes, cashmere separates and lace with leather details enhanced the collection. Soft hair by Ric Pipino and bold poppy lips by MAC Pro really added glamour with a modern, easy feel. From uptown to downtown this collection suits various lifestyles.

It wouldn’t be Fashion Week without talking about Betsey Johnson. Even the most buttoned-up fashion journalist can be found bopping to the beats as Betsey’s show began. Her collection was a reminder that it’s fun to tap into that playful and empowering side that we often neglect. Bright colors, glittering sequins (in hot pink, of course) and retro prints were seen on the runway in a true vixen vibe. The finale of the show which consisted of Betsey doing her famous split on stage as her granddaughter proudly looked on, followed by hot shirtless men strutting their stuff,  rivaled her styles as the piece de resistance of the show.
