St. Anthony High School fosters an academic community where each student and teacher is considered a contributing member of the Friar Family concept.

The Women’s Guild supports and serves St. Anthony High School’s mission of excellence and growth through an established organization of women committed to increasing awareness, outreach and providing on-going financial support. This is accomplished through extended networking and special events, such as the luncheon I attended in May.

Some event highlights:

Kathleen Staudt, St. Anthony’s Development Director welcomed guests.

Chad Broussard, Head Of the School spoke about the successes and advancements the school has had and those to come.

Friar Inspiration was given by Chazz Smith’s Video introduced by the School President Bill Reilly who also spoke to the commitment of the students in advancing in their education.

Maryjane Reilly, Chair Women’s Guild President introduced Jack Ford.

The inspiring words from the Emmy Award Winning Journalist resonated with everyone in attendance. Ford emphatically discussed how his successes came from the importance of education his mother and teachers had planted within him as a young child.

In an age when so many Catholic schools across our nation are struggling to survive, St. Anthony High School often faces the same challenges but continues to forge ahead toward a bright future and another generation of graduates.

Quick facts about the school:

  1. In the last 21, years, EVERY student that has graduated from the school has been accepted to college or an institution of higher learning.
  2. The school is co-educational. Of the school’s roughly 220 students, many come from families that are living below the poverty line.
  3. The school has to raise nearly $1.5 million each year to keep tuition affordable.
  4. A strategic business plan and strong leadership make the difference in a viable vision for the future. Although a small non-profit, the school is run as a business so that benefactors are confident in their investment.
  5. The school’s nationally recognized boys’ basketball program has a record of 26 State parochial titles (the most in the nation), and have recently achieved their second concurrent undefeated championship season – making it seven undefeated seasons in their history.

Miracles happen every day at Saint Anthony High School.  They have been for sixty years.

Be a part of the miracle of Saint Anthony.
