Light Up A Life, Halloween Carnival Raises Record-Breaking Amount To Help Children’s Care Services

 

On Saturday 20 October, more than 1,000 guests attended the 29th annual Light Up A Life Halloween carnival at Chelsea Piers presented by the New York – Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital and the Weill Cornell Medical Centre. Hundreds of children and families joined hospital clinicians and leadership dressed up in Halloween costumes.

Field House at Chelsea Piers hosted the event which was exclusively sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue. This year a record-breaking $500,000 was raised benefitting paediatric patient care programmes including; Child Live Services, a program that helps alleviate children’s fears surrounding the hospital experience, The Paediatric Emergency Department, The Family Advisory Council, a group of dedicated family members of paediatric patients who are committed to working with hospital staff to provide family-centred care and Paediatric Fellowship.   

The event featured games and activities including soccer drills with members from New York City Football Club.

The founder of Light Up A Life, Kathleen Burns, was joined at the event by her event co-chairs and by Saks Fifth Avenue executives Tracy Margolies, Emily Essner and John Antonini. Also, in attendance were Candice and Brandon Miller, Travis Acquavella and Arielle Charnas.
