Dear Fashion Doctor,

I need your help! I’m a 43-year-old married mom who lives in Manhattan. Without heels, I’m about 5’8” and in great shape. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for what seems like forever, but now it is time for a change. My set of twins are both entering their second year of high school and I have loads of free time now and am itching to rehabilitate my boring look and resurrect myself from my style-less PTA deathbed.

My life is pretty casual but I still want to look like effort was put into my look. I attend a few “girls’ only “ and “couples’ only” dinners each month, and I’m planning to assist around the office at my husbands’ elite plastic surgery center once or twice a week. I want to look relevant but approachable and appropriate. I want my wardrobe to reflect who I am and how I feel, which is liberated and happy!
