Salt & Silver: Travel, Surf, Cook” describes the life everyone hopes to live, all in one gorgeous coffee-table book. In 2014, two guys from Germany set out to explore the world with nothing but two surfboards, a sharp knife, board shorts, and a backpack full of photo equipment. They dared to seek out Latin America’s best waves and local cuisine, from Cuba to Mexico to Patagonia. When they returned, they transferred what they had learned and experienced to their book. This photo-packed travelogue engages readers in the local culture of eight countries and is basically impossible to put down.

Gansevoort Meatpacking - Rooftop Pool Daytime

After long hours in the office with the sun shining bright, we all deserve to play hooky once in a while. That’s why we love Gansevoort Park Avenue’s “Ditch Day” package. Gather your friends and enjoy your best weekday ever at the sky-high rooftop pools while sipping on coconut water by the Coconut Cartel. Submerge yourself in relaxation at the exhale spa, followed by a blowout by GLAMSQUAD over a glass of rosé. This beats any hooky days I’ve ever taken.

Amp up your Montauk summerhouse and make your home a celebration of worldly craftsmanship with The Citizenry. Taking pride in global human craftsmanship instead of the man-made production of chain stores, The Citizenry features a specific country in every collection, including Mexico, Peru, Uganda, and Argentina. The company celebrates the artisans and designers behind the products and shares their stories through their pieces. Since there is no middleman between The Citizenry and the artisans, you get these pieces at a fraction of the cost – so you can spend your extra change on the Chanel surfboard you’ve been eying!

Renowned pop photographer Gray Malin, known for his bright beach scenes and vibrant colors, has teamed up with FUNBOY to create their own swan floats and beach essentials. This is not the basic swan float you’ll find on everybody’s Instagram account – this limited-edition float has Gray’s iconic aerial beach images tattooed all over. Nothing beats lying out and relaxing on a fabulous inflatable with a piña colada in hand.

Via Veneto Interior 1

While vacationing out west this summer, be sure to hit up Santa Monica, California hot spot Via Veneto. Hailing from Rome, Fabrizio Bianconi and Marco Cialini headed to Southern California with a desire to create a place that served the food they grew up with. Pouring passion and love into their cuisine, they pay special attention to detail and even source their produce from the local Santa Monica farmers’ market. I was ecstatic about their homemade veal ravioli and pan-roasted rack of Sonoma lamb in a crust of fine herbs. Trust me, this place will make your tastebuds sing with pure delight.
