Mila De Campos' workshop in Colombia is located in a traditional working-class neighborhood in the south-west of Bogota. Known for centuries for its tradition of leather goods and shoemaking, these lively streets make up one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. The family company that owns the workshop is their main partner for manufacturing their handbags. It was founded three years ago and its attention to quality and details has made this workshop of twenty people the ideal partner for the making of L'Autre Sac products. Mila De Campos' prime motivation for the choice of this partner is their close connection with the local community. Their great concern is to integrate people into the labor market who, if not for them, would probably not have the possibility to work. This is how women with physical disabilities or with a difficult past marked by marginalization find an opportunity to learn a trade, integrate into the world of work and, of course, earn a living.
