Hotel Saranac – Lake Saranac, New York
Following a four-year, $30 million restoration, the Adirondacks’ iconic Hotel Saranac is officially re-opening. A social hub of Saranac Lake, the hotel will be an ideal modern, luxe basecamp for Adirondacks exploration. The landmark hotel will feature 102 guest rooms and suites; Campfire Adirondack Bar & Grill, a sophisticated yet inviting restaurant and bar; Ampersand Salon and Spa, a sanctuary that embraces the spirit of the mountains; an inspired variety of indoor and outdoor meeting space; and a wealth of camp-like experiences begging to be explored, from swimming and biking to kayaking and skiing. Pod Times Square – New York, New York
In early 2018, The Pod Hotels will open its flagship property, Pod Times Square, right in the center of New York City’s hustle and bustle. A BD Hotels property (The Mercer, The Marlton, The Bowery, The Maritime, The Greenwich) Pod Times Square will become the fifth asset in the Pod Hotel collection, offering 665 rooms across 28 floors – each about 115 square feet. Located in the heart of Times Square, on the corner of 42nd street and 9th Avenue, Pod Times Square will expand on the micro-hotel concept, offering 45 Pod Pads – living suites varying from 600 – 800 square feet, available for those interested in extended-stay options or even long-term leases, accommodations that are a first for the Pod Hotels brand. Pod Times Square will be a hop, skip, and a jump away from lively Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, which offers some of New York City’s best cuisine, as well as trendy bars and nightlife.
Hotel Xcaret – Riviera Maya, Mexico
A major debut in the picturesque Riviera Maya region will be the ambitious opening of Hotel Xcaret at the beginning of the New Year. Experiencias Xcaret Group, the visionaries behind the region’s most famous eco-amusement parks and tours, will debut a 900-suite, all-inclusive resort that promises “the best of Mexico” with a unique ALL-FUN INCLUSIVE® guest experience and locally sourced architecture and sustainable-first design. Hotel Xcaret will be the only resort with direct access to the region’s 8 interactive parks (offering everything from cave diving to nighttime jungle jeep exploration, riverboat fiestas to live Mayan cultural performances) and include premier service, traditional and modernized Mexican cuisine (18 bars and restaurants in total), and all-suite accommodations with access to flowing rivers, tucked away coves, and stunning white sand beach real estate. Carlos Gaytán – Top Chef contestant, Chicago restaurateur, and the first Mexican Michelin-starred chef – will enter into a year-long partnership with Hotel Xcaret to directly oversee elements of the resort’s F&B offerings, building up from scratch the menu for the signature restaurant Ha’.
ITC Kohinoor – Hyderabad, India
In April 2018, ITC Hotels will expand their opulent collection with ITC Kohinoor. Designed to resemble the impressive Kohinoor diamond, the 290-room hotel will overlook the picturesque Durgam Cheruvu Lake. The Food & Beverage offering at the hotel will comprise of an integrated 3 meal restaurant, 24/7 café, 3 specialty restaurants, a bar and a separate section for banqueting and conferencing facilities. Hyderabad, India’s ‘City of Pearls’, is rapidly transforming, blending a storied past with a modern mindset and quickly becoming the country’s premier destination for the business traveler. DTLA Proper Hotel – Los Angeles, California
Opening in the summer and housed in the former YWCA building on the Historic Broadway Corridor, Downtown LA Proper Hotel will offer a new kind of high-end lifestyle hospitality experience from Proper Hotels. Designed by international tastemaker Kelly Wearstler, the property will include two ground floor restaurants, a rooftop pool and lounge, and the renovation of some of the building’s historic, double-height spaces into unique suites and public areas. Fenway Hotel – Dunedin, Florida
Originally opened in 1927, Fenway Hotel is an icon of the jazz age. Throughout its time as an operating hotel, it has hosted explorers, artists, politicians, musicians, and living legends. Slated to open in July 2018, the new Fenway Hotel brings together touches of the past in a modern setting to create a new vision. Located just steps away from downtown Dunedin, the hotel will feature 83 guest rooms and suites; HEW Parlor & Chophouse, with extensive private dining options; Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar overlooking Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands; a combined 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, all with water views; a resort-style pool and bar; and an expansive front lawn ideal for croquet, badminton, and bocce.
Santa Monica Proper Hotel – Santa Monica, California
Another Proper Hotel, this 271-room hotel, located blocks from the Pacific Ocean along Wilshire Boulevard in vibrant Downtown Santa Monica will feature multiple dining options by local area culinary stars; a rooftop lounge and swimming pool; 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space; and almost 7,000 square feet of ground floor retail – all of which are also designed by Kelly Wearstler. Regent Jakarta – Jakarta, Indonesia
Regent Hotels & Resorts, with developer KG Global Development, will launch Regent Jakarta, a luxury hotel and residential project in late 2018, in the heart of Indonesia’s vibrant capital city. The hotel will be the eighth property in Regent’s growing collection and will follow the brand’s tradition of offering authentic and distinct experiences for travelers. The destination’s traditions and culture will be infused throughout the hotel – reflected in design elements, culinary experiences, and amenities. Regent Jakarta will be a mixed use development that’s comprised of a hotel with 126 guestrooms and suites, 107 exclusive residences, dining, and meeting facilities within Mangkuluhur City. The hotel will feature world-class dining options, including a signature specialty restaurant and library bar. Guests can indulge in the complete Regent experience with other amenities, such as the luxurious Regent Spa, wellness facilities, and comprehensive meeting rooms and event spaces, including an opulent Grand Ballroom.
Canopy by Hilton San Antonio River Walk
Adding to San Antonio’s repertoire of exceptional hotels, Canopy by Hilton is set to make its River Walk debut during San Antonio’s year-long Tricentennial celebration in 2018. The hotel will integrate the Civil War-era Alamo Fish Market building into its 22-story design. Incorporating the building into the hotel is not only an integral element of the authenticity of the Canopy brand, but also maintains an important historic element to the corridor. Canopy San Antonio River Walk will feature more than 3,000 square feet of meeting space, 195 rooms and a restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking the River Walk.
Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa | TRS Coral Hotel – Costa Mujeres, Mexico
Palladium Hotel Group is introducing two new properties, the family-friendly Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa and the adults-only TRS Coral Hotel.
