In honor of “Earth Month” (yes, it’s a thing) welcome, Moke America – a 20th century collectible car reinvented with 21st century green-friendly electric power (available exclusively in the USA.) Moke America converted the classic Moke into a cool, comfortable, and sustainable collectible car, where luxury meets eco-friendly island chic.
The Moke is a versatile, carbon-free and efficient electric vehicle. This upgraded version has more legroom, expanded trunk space, a superior sound system and sex appeal. What began as a military invention for the British army in the late 1950s, quickly became a cultural touch point with celebrity fans like Brigitte Bardot, Princess Margaret, Emperor Rosko and the Beach Boys. Created by the British Motor Company and Alec Issigonis, the father of the original Austin Mini, the Moke was designed to be combat ready, a car that could be parachuted from the skies. While its life as a military vehicle didn’t last too long, the open-air car became beloved by stars, surfers and Caribbean travelers. Moke America has reengineered the entire car, while keeping the classic design and spirit alive.
Moke America launched in the U.S. just two years ago and most recently participated in Google’s Third Annual Environmental Day at the Mountain View Headquarters. There, Moke offered test drives of their electric model to over 2,000 attendees, alongside electric pioneers BMW, Audi and Tesla.
From Hampton-goers to celebrities alike (i.e. Kris Jenner, Katharine McPhee, Martha Stewart and more,) Moke America has been an exciting way to showcase green living, while remaining glamorous and timeless. They have aligned with national brands that have Moke cars onsite, including Fred Segal, Setai in Miami, Hotel Joaquin in Laguna Beach. Along with brand partnerships with Louis Vuitton, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barry’s Bootcamp, Art Basel, Serena Williams Fashion and more.
