The artisanal fragrance line, Heretic Parfums introduces Scandalwood, a provocative new scent collaboration with Dita Von Teese.
The fragrance and candle will be available for pre-orders Monday October 2 and in-store at FortyFiveTen (Dallas, Houston and Napa), Bergdorf Goodman (New York) and Maxfield (Los Angeles) on Wednesday, November 1.
Mr. Little, known for his lavish visual installation and trend-setting product development brings to life a revealing Scandalwood scented candle created with a patent-pending, thermal-reactive ink that disappears when heated.
The heat sensitive ink is used to print Dita’s dress and disappears, exposing the scantily clad image of the burlesque queen. As the candle cools, the dress reappears and image is hidden until you reignite the candle.
Douglas Little, Founder and creator of Heretic Parfum worked with Dita over the past three years to develop this provocative take on sandalwood and says, “Scandalwood is a voluptuous and alluring blend of Mysore sandalwood, sweet coriander, orris butter, Bulgarian rose and labdanum. The fragrance is androgynous, velvety and deeply alluring.”
Dita Von Teese says, “Douglas and I are longtime friends, birds of a feather when it comes to our eccentric aesthetics, and we’ve been fantasizing about the perfect collaboration for a long time. Our Scandalwood Striptease Candle brings together our obsession with the exquisite combined with the slightly perverse.”
Taking audiences on a journey into fantasy and spectacle, the world famous Dita Von Teese is renowned for her ornate sets and dazzling haute-couture performance costumes adorned with hundreds of thousands of Swarovski crystals.
This “Burlesque Superheroine” (Vanity Fair) determines every aspect of her burlesque shows from the sets and costumes, to the music and lighting. She has also been celebrated for her distinct sense of style and remains on top of “Best Dressed” lists internationally.
Beyond her live performances, Dita has curated her brand across multiple platforms including her own lingerie line, fragrances, eyewear, gloves and stockings.
