There is nothing better than walking out of a restaurant with someone special, and both at the same time saying, “That was AMAZING!” Well, that was a very real and recent experience at Blu on Park, an elegant steakhouse in a renovated 1920s-era brownstone on the Upper East Side.
The contemporary restaurant fuses the sophistication of a modern steakhouse with the glamour of the Prohibition era and is the perfect spot for a sexy date night. When I asked our server if there were any specials on the menu, her response was “everything is special.” And she was spot on! From the apps (Burrata was my fave), to dinner (NY Sirloin = perfection), to dessert (Almond Cake)… everything we tried was top-notch and incredibly satisfying.
Executive Chef, Rory O’Farrell heads the kitchen, putting his personal spin on traditional dishes such as Beef Carpaccio, Kataifi Tofu in Lemon Grass Broth, and a delicious Porterhouse for two, or three, or four. The menu also features an extensive wine selection and creative libations – a paired down version is offered for happy hour five days a week from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Blu on Park is open for lunch and dinner daily, and brunch on the weekends, with the addition of jazz every Sunday. The space is chic, the service is stellar and if you’re on the hunt for some truly fine dining, this is the spot.
