Our children come first, but when we forget about ourselves, it’s not ok.

Self Care Improves Your Emotional Health: Taking time out to care for yourself can remind you and others that you and your needs are important, too.

Self Care Makes You a Better Caretaker: When you neglect your own needs and forget to nurture yourself, you are at danger of deeper levels of unhappiness, low self-esteem and feelings of resentment.

Self Care Releases Stress: Giving your body some special treatment is a natural way to relieve stress.

Today I talk to self care advocate, self-described beauty junkie and founder of Dixie Bits, Dixie Lincoln-Nichols.

She developed a passion for all things beautiful at the age of six, after watching her grandmother extract coconut oil in an iron pot on her stove top one day in Trinidad. She learned that the oil in the pot was the same oil she used to moisturize her skin every day, and she was absolutely fascinated.

Watch as we discuss taking time out, SPF 30, toner, manicures, but most importantly…emotional and spiritual well being Chica, for your sanity and your family’s.

I am very excited to let you know, you can personally meet Dixie at Bella’s Winter Wonderland on November 29, 2012!
