Introducing Agabhumi (Ah-gă-BOO´-mē), a sizzling collection of one-of-a-kind wardrobe essentials handcrafted by artisans on the balmy island of Bali.
Agabhumi (meaning “ancient firmament”) is a slice of “heaven on Earth,” offering jewelry, apparel and accessories imbued in the mystical culture of this tropical paradise. Gorgeous prints in cerulean blue evoke Bali’s crystal-clear lagoons. Necklaces honed of metals and minerals remind one of ancient Hindu talismans.
With the launch of Agabhumi online, co-owners Michael and Regina Kirshbaum, who worked in merchandising and marketing at Bergdorf Goodman for several years prior to their start with Agabhumi, are connecting design-obsessed buyers with statement pieces created by artisans in Bali. Regina, as creative director, works collaboratively with her Balinese team to ensure that each bobble, bell pant and handbag is on trend. The result: A rich array of pieces that work as resort wear or signature day-to-evening looks.
Michael and Regina love to travel. They first fell in love with the Bali years ago. On one of their many visits, they reunited with a Balinese family Michael stayed with when he was young. Through this reunion, they were connected to the most talented local artisans on the island, leading to one-of-a-kind collaborations. The rest is history! Agabhumi features a rich array of unique pieces – resort wear, accessories, and signature day-to-evening looks. There’s something for everyone.
Agabhumi offers a wide selection of unique pieces. Find delicately etched chandelier earrings and necklaces that meld sterling silver and onyx. Pile on bracelets in silver, copper and rubber from the Yanvan family of designers’ collection of wearable-art pieces. Choose a mosaic opal ring in a bead-encrusted setting. Pendants and chains pay homage to agate and amethyst.
Ethereal fabrics in billowy cuts convey the serenity of life on this tropical isle. Find tunics and empire dresses in dreamy blue, resort-ready prints easily dressed up for nightlife. Bell pants with fitted waists offer comfort and style. Modern ponchos and long vests make it a snap for women-on-the-go to create a signature look.
For a special gift or a “wow” item for a woman’s wardrobe, Agabhumi accessories fit the bill. Soft leather cross-body bags, contoured belts, batik scarves in hand-painted designs and ATA-woven handbags amp up anyone’s style.
Agabhumi is a labor of love, reflecting Michael and Regina’s absolute devotion to the Balinese people, their families and their awe-inspiring culture. It is the couple’s mission to showcase the talents of these artisans by elevating their wares with modern design.
